Lost Nation Creek waterhole, Centerville, New York

Named for an Indian tribe which vanished, this creek has been deepened to make a waterhole and swimming area by the Civilian Conservation Corps, camp 126. This camp is located near Centerville, New York, and operated from 1935-1941. This image was created to record the reforestation work of the Civilian Conservation Corps under the supervision of the New York State Conservation Department.
