Norway Spruce Plantation, Allegany County

A field of young Norway Spruce (Picea abies), located in Allegany County between the towns of Almond and Angelica. This reforestation is the work of "Roosevelt's Tree Army," the Civilian Conservation Corps. This particular site belongs to CCC Camp S-92, located in Almond, N.Y., from 1935-1942. This image was created to record the reforestation work of the Civilian Conservation Corps under the supervision of the New York State Conservation Department.
