The stone foundation of this old barn is being scavenged by the Civilian Conservation Corps is order to line waterholes. These waterholes will aid fire suppression in the forests near Centerville. During this period, the Forest Service would purchase abandoned farmland like this, and the CCC, "Roosevelt's Tree Army," would clear and reforest it. This image was created to record the reforestation work of the Civilian Conservation Corps under the supervision of the New York State Conservation Department.
