New York City Hearing – April 20, 1972 (Morning). Recording of WRVR radio host laying out the agenda for the day and discussing statements made by Richard Clark. McKay introduces Tom Wicker, writer for the New York Times. Wicker is examined by Arthur Liman and continues his testimony from April 18, 1972. Wicker discusses his interactions with inmates, the negotiations, and his experience during the morning of the retaking of Attica. Commissioners McKay, Wilbanks, Broderick, Henix, Wadsworth, Guerrero, and Rothschild ask follow-up questions on amnesty, the retaking, negotiations, Wicker’s time spent in “D” yard, and the role of the Observers. Wicker declines to make a final statement.
