View of the Middle Falls on the Genesee River Gorge in Letchworth State Park in Portage, Livingston County. The exposed bedrock is sandstone and shale dating to the Devonian Period. (the span of the Earth's history from about 408 to 360 million years ago.) The date is unrecorded, but probably ca. 1920. This image was created to record the waterpower activities of the New York State Forest, Fish, and Game Commission, Conservation Commission, or Conservation Department.
