View of the Mount Adams forest fire observation station in Newcomb, Essex County in the Adirondack Mountains. Fallen trees lie strewn about on the ground. An observer can be seen from the tower, watching the surrounding mountains for signs of smoke. This image was created to record the forest fire service activities of the New York State Conservation Commission.
