Writ of habeas corpus and related documents issued for an enslaved Black child named Peter and his release. The writ was obtained after his mother Isabella Van Wagenen, later known as Sojourner Truth, successfully sued for it. The record includes the writ of habeas corpus, Isabella's deposition, Solomon Gedney's response, and the order of the court.
