Rolling logs in the river at Jay, N.Y.

Lumbermen, possibly working for J. & J. Rogers Company, stopping to pose for photograph as they roll logs into the river at Jay in the Adirondack Mountains. A team of horses and piles of logs are also visible.

This image has been identified as the work of Florence A. Van Sant, a photographer who was active in the Adirondacks from 1898-1902.
