The Pumpkin Bowl was an annual football game between Governor Carey and his staff (the Excelsiors), facing off against reporters from the Albany Times Union Newspaper (the Eagles). The Excelsiors won Pumpkin Bowl II, 24-6. The game took place at the State Correctional Academy in Albany.
